Talent Profile: Kate Brown

Potter, Tilemaker San Lorenzo, NM

Kate Brown has worked as a potter for her entire adult life and over the years has made thousands of pots, drawing inspiration from earthenware traditions in the colonial U.S. and along the Mexican-American borderlands where she lives. In the 1990’s, she also became a master tile worker. Since 1983, she has been working and teaching at her studio, Kate Brown Pottery, in Southwest New Mexico.
