3/31/25. Another class member gone too soon. Rick was a Tappan kid who went on to lead an extremely interesting life. His obituary calls him a "Renaissance Man" and if you read the details, you're likely to agree.
During the Vietnam war, Rick served in Heidelberg, Germany, and afterwards moved to Berlin to attend The Academy of Fine Arts where he earned a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) degree, with particular interests in painting, drawing and sculpting. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he passed those inclinations on to his children.
His love of sports in school stayed with him throughout his life, if not the ones he learned in school. He did serious weightlifting, earned a bronze medal in table tennis in the 2001 Senior Olympics, rolled a 300 game in bowling, and fished.
Rick lived in Dexter and he's just the kind of classmate you may not have known at AAHS but could hope to meet at one of our reunions.
